Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the laptop. In Chapter 6, Removal and replacement procedures for authorized service provider parts, Page 44, is a list of compatible M.2 SSD's. As you will see, there are SATA and PCIe models. I like Samsung SSD's because they seem to work best with the HP BIOS.

My 922 GB C: drive claims to have just under 20 GB free. When I look to see what is using all the space folder by folder I only find a third of it being used. Any idea what I'm missing?

Thank you so much for your reply. I was hoping that it could support for such an express card upto 500 GBs and use the 1 tb hard disk already installed on it for backing up data, but alas it only supports mini card solid state drive upto 250 GB SSD which is what I do not want. In the nut shell i need to replace the hard disk with the one you mentioned or some similar. I hope my software won't hang while running multiple software simultaneously such as ArcGIS & Visual Studio :)
But wait sir, I have scanned my system with crucial from crucial.com and it tells me that there are two interfaces such as SATA & M.2 and I can install Crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND M.2 Tye 2280 Internal SSD in M.2 port. Please confirm that sir whether this is true. I

My left hinge broke right after the warranty expired. The housing is also cracked and computer will not turn on. It cycles as it attempts to boot up. Is there a way to replace the housing or has it now become a paper weight.
New laptop under HP 1 year warranty. Faulty. Repairs only available in Singapore. Asked to bubble wrap and get ready for courier. Is this normal? I am in Australia. I rang my seller and they told me it was a scam. Said to bring it back to the store where they will repair. Anyone else encounter this?

That is true in many cases. I've no idea why but most of parts from a computer (big or small) to an aircraft are in Singapore. I was a computer "repairer", I worked in Melbourne but most of the times we need parts from Sydney or Singapore.

The power button has caved in, I believe this is a common issue. Does anyone know the name of the part and where I can purchase it? I've opened the laptop and just need the part. I initially thought the part was #913006-001 and I found this part online. However, it just doesn't look like the part in this laptop. If someone can confirm, I would really appreciate it.

It indicates that it is upgradable to 2048 MB maximum per slot, but I an not quite sure how. Can you perhaps, if you have a chance look into how this can be accomplished?
