Hello,
I bought the dv6t quad edition with lots of upgrades (see below) and have had almost no problems until now. Except for rare travel with the laptop it always sits on a wire "drying rack" intended for making jerky or drying food (Kmart), which allows full air flow from underneath the machine. All side and back vents are free from obstructions.
For the last few days the fan has been intermittently loud. I vacuumed all of the vents: side, back, bottom but the intermittent fan noise continues. I'd like to replace it myself since it is out of warranty and I have viewed a couple of YouTube videos showing the complete disassembly of the machine necessary to replace or even clean the fan and I'm up for the challenge.
Since I got the i7-2820QM (2.3 GHz, 8MB L3 Cache) w/Turbo Boost up to 3.4 GHz processor as well as the 2GB GDDR5 Radeon(TM) HD 6770M Graphics [HDMI, VGA], I want to make sure I purchase the correct replacement fan part that can handle the cooling chores. Can someone suggest a part number and where to purchase it?
Thank you in advance for any assistance provided.
