I have a three month old HP Envy 15t-j000.
When i wake my laptop from sleep or hibernation, the cooling fan becomes VERY loud and will not stop for five plus minutes. I have opened a support ticket with HP on this item, sent my laptop to be repaired, and the laptop was returned with zero information about repairs. The first time i used the laptop after being sent to HP, the cooling fan noise continued.
Where i find this very strange is that the cooling fan gets extremely loud when i wake the laptop from sleep or hibernation AND when i pick up the PC and hold it on my lap. If i wake the PC and leave it on a table, there is no noise. When i turn on the PC from being powered off and hold it in any position, there is no noise. When i play a game with the PC, there is little fan noise (nothing unexpected for gaming). But, there are no other instanaces where the fan is as loud as the sound when i wake the computer from sleep.
I have even tested the laptop by waking it from sleep, the laptop sitting on a table, no fan noise, and i pick it up two or three minutes later and INSTANTLY the fan noise kicks in and does not stop for five plus minutes (if ever). I have had to hard restart the computer on several occassions as the fan noise will not stop.
Is there anything i can do to control this fan? I cannot find anything in the bios or anywhere on the pc. There seems to be something triggering the fan to kick on at the wrong times. Is this just hardware malfunction.
It's very frtustrating....
