Win10 to Win7
How to install win7 on HP 15-ba026ur? Laptop doesn`t launch with 7 at all if it was installed by usb.
Re: Win10 to Win7
Hi:
First go into the BIOS, enable legacy mode and disable secure boot. W7 is not compatible with secure boot.
See this link for the settings to change...
https://www.support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03736054/
If you are using a USB flash drive, you must plug it into the notebook's USB 2 port.
It won't work from a USB 3 port because W7 does not have the required USB 3 drivers in order to continue.
Re: I have a dead Pavilion and I don't have a charger for it.
Hi. That was a great help - I thought all that text in the battery bay related to the battery itself. And yes, I now have the model number: 15-e092sa. I should be able to locate the correct power supply now but all I want really is the size of the DC terminal because there just might be an adapter that will allow me to use my existing supply. I imagine the voltage will be the same but the wattage may differ.
Thanks again.
Re: Broken hinge-request cost quote and details
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Your laptop was supplied from the factory with a 65w adapter woth a 4.5mm barrel plug:
Re: Envy x360 AMD laptop unusable after updating to BIOS F.19
I know this is an old post, but hopefully you (or someone) may be able to help me.
I followed your above steps, and everything seems fine (for now....), however i'm stuck on your very last step:
"After it starts back up, type in "AMD Radeon Settings" again in your windows search bar and press enter. Click "System", and verify the new 18.12.2 version is now installed...."
When I attempt to search "AMD Radeon Settings", nothing comes up.
If i search just "AMD", I get:
"Best match:
Run AMD Problem Report Wizard"
or
"Apps
Uninstall AMD Problem Report Wizard".
If I search "Radeon", I get:
"Best Match
radeon-software-adrenalin-2019-19.1.1-win10-64bit-jan20.exe"
(Note: At the time I am doing this, "Adrenalin 2019 Edition 18.12.2" is/was not available, only "Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.1.1", along with another "Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.1.12 (beta)", so i went with the former.
Where do I go from here? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
[Ps: I'm also unable to change the brightness of my screen since changing/updating the driver].
Re: Replacements for product
Yes confirmed that parts for the dv6-7000 series will work for your laptop. Your best bet is to buy a donor unit that has a cracked screen, dead motherboard, etc. That will be much cheaper than buying multiple individual parts from used parts sellers.
Re: SSD upgrade
M.2 SATA only...see p. 3:
Something like Samsung 860 M.2
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.
Re: HP Pavilion - USB-C port not function
Interesting.
I read your previous comments. You do not seem to understand how systematic troubleshooting works.
Well, that means your troubleshooting has met a wall.
It is clear that your €20,00 non externally powered USB Type-C hub is not working with your notebook.
charging Adabter getting hot
whenver i pluger in the charger to the laptop the adapter get warmer specially whilie using it it is become more hot, what is the issue here and what supposed to do?
Re: charging Adabter getting hot
Run a diagnostic test on the battery. As the battery gets older the cells have more resistance to charging and make the AC adapter work harder so it heats up. There is a battery diagnostic in HP support assistant or in the pre-boot UEFI environment. Tap esc as you power up then F2, then select the battery test long version. Post advanced results here, please.
nuvoton chip

Elitebook 840 G5 PCI Bridge driver
Hi,
I am looking for a driver for a PCI to PCI Bridge device which is showing in device manager as not having a driver installed.
The device ID is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_15DA&SUBSYS_00008086&REV_02.
We have deployed this model of machine previously with no issue and the driver packs installed in SCCM worked fine. However some hardware must have changed in the latest batch we have purchased as they are showing this extra device.
I have tried every driver I can find on the support site for this model, but nothing has helped. I can't even find a description of what this piece of hardware actually is.
There was a suggestion on one of the forums that this was a driver for a Thunderbolt 3 dock, but I have tried this driver (out of desperation) to no avail. There is no dock attached and no thunderbolt port on the laptop.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Is there HP m4-1011tx mSATA supported?
I would like to upgrade my friend's laptop in next few weeks. I found this link:
http://www.myfixguide.com/manual/hp-pavilion-m4-disassembly/
I saw some port like mSATA but myfixguide.com does not tell about mSATA. I try to search internet but no people talked about it.
If m4-1011tx can use mSATA, can I use 240 gb?
My notebook won't charge I try different chargers and it's not the charging port
My notebook won't charge I try different chargers and it's not the charging port
Can I upgrade memory beyond 4GB
What is the maximum memory I can have on my notebook? It is a struggle getting much done using Windows 10 with 4GB RAM.
Re: Hp pavilion x2 detachable dock unresponsive, tablet touchscreen unresponsive
I have since been able to make the dock work.
the touch screen doesn’t even show up in the device manager.
this device is very much a touch screen.
i am convinced there is a lack of OS support for this as it initially worked fine, Microsoft updated 10 and it stopped working.
how do I make the computer recognize its own touchscreen?
Re: Touchpad not working sometimes
