Purchasing the whole assembly was what I thought as well, until I did some google searches and watched a few videos on Youtube. The way this laptop was assembled is a challenge to those who are inexperiened and I fully understand this. However, I can do it.

I want to enable AHCI mode on the bios of my oldie HP laptop (serial [Personal Information Removed]) for my new ssd (samsung evo 840/120gb), but:
1) the option for ahci is not there on the bios (f10).
2) can't open advanced bios options (f10+a) either
3) can't find a bios update which might have ahci option
Help please.
Trim is enabled, as per the Magician, is Ahci mode gonna make a big difference?

and one happy people:
Basically first step is to turn off intel optane in Bios settings. It is under "storage". I did this and was able to boot into windows just fine afterwards. I then shut down the machine and removed intel optane chip and installed Kingston 960G SSDNOW A1000 M.2 2280 NVMe. I turned on machine and opened acronis cloning software. My NVME was recognized by acronis so I proceeded to clone it. Once that was complete I set my bios to boot from the New cloned Kingston NVME. Oh my! It is superfast! I used the HDD as a backup inside the computer for a while, but decided to remove it so I can preserve battery power. I use the HDD externally as a backup when I need it.

I want to ask what is the model of the ram in my laptop (15-bs100nj) I have bought a ram from amazon I saw it the same part number when I bought it but when I installed it I saw a difference in the part number, so i got confused what is the original RAM part number of the laptop.
To get full benefit of dual channels architecture, you need to install same RAM for BOTH slots. But in your case now, RAM can be 2400Hz but they will run at 2133Hz.

In your model, AHCI is set by default, and cannot be changed.
You made a typo regarding the chipset. It should be a Mobile Intel 945GSE Express Chipset.
How you can tell that AHCI is set by default...
If you go to the device manager, click to expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers device manager category.
Under that category with the chipset your notebook has, you should be seeing an Intel(R) ICH7M/MDH SATA AHCIController.
That controller description confirms that AHCI is enabled, otherwise there would be no reference to the AHCI term in the device description.

Paul you absolute legend! I downloaded that driver and installed it through the application not manually! Thank you so much for all your help, you obviously know what its like to send a pc out with one missing driver hahaha, i can sleep now knowing they are all there.

HELLO, I have an elitebook 840 g1 which began to heat up and make higher noise than precedent, I installed HP assistant with which I installed pilots updates among them the update of bios, after this update, the computer takes a long time to start and after the start it works very slow, I controled the performance in the task manager and I found that the processor is in 100% even that Iam not launched any application!

Absolutely it does not have a whitelist. HP did away with that about 5 years ago. And your model has dual antennae so will work with any wifi card of the correct form factor. Its an M.2 form factor card.
SSDs never were subject to a whitelist although there are occasional compatibility issues. Whitelist means the device is locked out or blocked affirmatively by the BIOS and HP has never done that with SSDs but your selections may be somewhat restricted by the hardware.
Here is the Service manual:
M.2 SSD 2280 form factor SATA or PCIe/NVME are supported but as yours is 6th gen Intel Core some of the more recent models like Samsung 960/970 may not work. You also want to open the laptop and verify the presence of the M.2 slot before investing in an upgrade.

See your point about default, but the samsung magician says, for the ssd, that ahci mode is not enabled. Also says Trim is enabled.

There isn't a thing you can do to change the drive controller setting, and if TRIM is enabled, that means that the drive controller is set either in AHCI or RAID mode, and I doubt your PC's controller is set to RAID.

I want to replace my HP Envy 14T-J100 model notebook's battery. But the problem is I can't find any replacement part anywhere. Is there any way to find spare part of 805094-005 battery or the compatible one. It is also a LP03XL model battery. So I also want to know if the other LP03XL model batteries compatible with my notebook? Notebook's battery is dead and useless. I couldn't find any seller that provides this spare part in my country. I'm trying to find a solution but I don't know what to do now. I talked with Local Hp Support but they told the notebook was purchased from outside the Turkey, so we cant help you.
