I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Connecting HP W2082a monitor to Pavilion 23-g010

I have had my Pavilion 23-g010 All-in-One for two years; recently had to return it to its factory condition - not sure if it had updated to Windows 10 prior to the virus or not.  I want to connect another HP monitor to this computer so I can work with dual, basically same size monitors (am looking to add an HP W2082a).  Question:  Can I connect another monitor, and, if so, what connecting cord etc do I need to use them both simultaneously?

Thank you

Adding a graphics card

Hp 15 Bs095ms does not have a dedicated graphic card. Is there any provision that a graphic card can be added later?

Hi,

It is not possible to add a graphics card as they come integrated on the motherboard (soldered), as does the graphics subsystem. You would need to replace the motherboard which would probably cost more than buying new PC with desired specs.

Hope it helps,

David

Detachable keyboard not working!

Hi,
I'm currently staying in UK but I bought netbook x2 10-p000 in Poland. Few days after it was bought it stopped recognizing the keyboard. When I'm turn the netbook on the little light on the CAPS LOCK key lights up (so it means the netbook can find it?) But then either touchpad or keyboard are not working. I tried troubleshooting, uninstalling the HID keyboard device from the Device Manager however nothing seems to work. I also reinstalled the ELAN touchpad drivers (downloaded from the official HP site) but still there's no response. In the Device Manager when I'm looking at keyboard it says it's working properly but in "universal serial bus controlles" there's information saying "unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed). Everything is updated etc. Win 64 bit
I couldnt give the netbook back because when the keyboard stopped working I was flying back. Now I'm trying to call HP service either in Poland or UK but there's no response either so I decided to write a post here.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

They are both similar 15-bs008ne has a dedicated graphics card with 2GB of dedicated RAM, so I would say it is better. The 15-bs095ms has 4GB more RAM than the bs008ne (total 8GB)  and a larger hard drive (2TB). However these are things you can upgrade on the bs008ne. The first upgrade on any of the two systems I would perform is to install an SSD which improves everyday performance a lot.

Hope it helps,

David

The other difference is of the battery. 15-bs008ne has a 4 cell battery while 15-bs095ms has a 3 cell battery and it has a touchscreen.

See p. 54 here:

Manual

Its real easy to replace the drive as you can see. You can buy a generic mini-SATA 12.7mm tray load drive with Lightscribe. HP did not offer a Lightscribe disk on this model series.

Something like this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Toshiba-Samsung-DVDRW-Dual-Layer-12-7mm-SATA-Drive-w-Lightscribe-537385-001/142145988668?hash=item21188fa83c:g:HokAAOSwYIxX~XkS:sc:USPSFirstClass!46220!US!-1

You would need to transplant the rear mounting bracket to the new generic drive and your old faceplate. You would also need to get Lightscribe software and lightscribe media with the printable surface on the top. I played around with Lightscribe for a while when it came out. You can make your own printed disks which is cool but it takes forever for the laser to etch in your design. You have to flip the disk over in the drive and then set up the Lightscribe app with a picture and the laser burns it into the top of the disk.

Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the answer you needed.

Hi ,

Good Day.  Thank you for posting your query in the HP community.  I read the post regarding issues with the battery.. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description and spectacular troubleshooting and commendable diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. Smiley Happy

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did you update the bios and chipset drivers?
  • Did you run diagnostics on the battery?
  • Does your computer work correctly with the charger plugged in?
  • Do you get any error messages?

For now, please try these steps:

Please uninstall the ACPI battery drivers from device manager by following these steps:

  • Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand Batteries>then select all the drivers including the ACPI drivers and uninstall it one at a time. Then restart the computer and check again.
  • If it does not get resolved, then calibrate the battery from this link: http://hp.care/2nCyXN3 and restore the power plan to defaults from here: http://hp.care/2rUUbXB

Then update the bios and chipset drivers from this link http://hp.care/2syreDe and follow the on-screen instructions.

  • Now check if the issue gets fixed.

  • For further assistance, please follow all the relevant steps that match your current issue from this link: http://hp.care/2syheXK
  • Also, make a note of any failure code for a failed component like the battery or adapter (charger)

If the problem persists, then please check this link out to improve battery performance. There is an associated video included as well. Link HP Notebook PCs - Improving Battery Performance (Windows 10, 8, 7):http://hp.care/2syuGOs

This should do the trick for you.

If your battery or the charger fails, then contact HP phone support to get the computer serviced.

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://hp.care/2r9wSvP

  • Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.
  • Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.
  • Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.
  • Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of it for you.

If the computer is out of warranty for more than 3 years, then please contact a local Best Buy or Staples technician to get it repaired as service options with HP may not be available. This is because the original suppliers and manufacturers of the parts that are supplied to HP don't do so anymore and hence service options are not available.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as“Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care and have a blessed week ahead. Smiley Happy
