Hi!
What I know, that no fn keys for the touchpad.
Have you installed this?
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-probook-450-g3-notebook-pc/7834555/swItemId/ob-201288-1
You can switch it with the point 1:
And can disable it when you plug in a mouse:
The touchpad is on when the light is off. If you disable it, the amber light is on.
Hello,
I am coming from Microsoft tech assistance where it was ascertained that Windows 10 upgrade may not be using all features with certain untested hardware. However that means nothing like "slow performance" as it is commonly perceived, but rather it means that the OS, as for computer standards, may be functioning dynamically (like in a forced state) which unfortunately does not allow authentic playback for media players and games consoles where Normal Playspeed 1.0 (RTC) is rendered as 1.2. (1.2 can be inconspicuous)
Such an issue of course reminds a lot the old days demand for video codecs except now like from the other end of the same polarity: "codecs available but not authentic playspeed".
Is there any way to workaround this compromise? the upgrade is done well, and ISO file can be used for a clean install. But how to make playback authentic?
If I buy a touch screen laptop can I override the touch screen controll so that I can control the laptop by mouse to as there are times that I mouse works better.
My laptop is HP Pavilion Notebook 14 al004na. It's just over 1 year old. In the past month or so the battery will never charge to 100%. It goes to 85%.
What should I do? I can't take the battery out as it's integrated in the PC.
Hi,
if you get a PC with touchscreen, you can use both the mouse and touchscreen. They will both work as one does not exclude the other.
Hope it helps,
David
Well I talked to HP support. That was a waste of time.
They really dont have a good answer and all they could do is offer 10% off a new laptop.
Let me spend another $1500 so you can lock down my laptop.
Any real Envy 17t-n100 17t-nxxx user that can confirm if they see the same whitelist behavior?
Thanks
Ravic
my laptop automatically shut down utomatically.. whem battery % reacheches on 20%... plz tell me the solution...
We have the same problem, sometimes our users bent the center pin. We also used power supply from other manufacturers, I also seen universal supply with removable head, but so far original HP is the best.
The only thing that I can do that straighten the bent pins with a screwdriver (1-2,5x50).
It fits into the hole, rotate in the hole several times to perfectly straighten the pin.
Games won't play above 8fps. I've checked my GPU on Nvidia and it's detecting it. I've even reset my laptop, but games just won't play and i have no idea why. Any help would be great.
Thanks.
I want to install a SSD hard drive, but I want to know if I will have to replace for the existing 1 TB or if i could just add an SSD and continue with my 1TB hard drive
Hey guys, thanks a millie. Problem solved.
The 120 hz display on the Envy is ging to be superior for video but not necessarily for color caibration or static images, but without knowing more if the screen is the main point get the Envy. And you are right about not being able to compare screens in the abstract. Sadly, unless you spend at least $2500 on a laptop you have no way to be sure you are getting a high quality panel these days,
The difference between the SATA M.2 and NVME M.2 is speed. SATA M.2 is maybe 4 times faster than a mechanical hard drive and an NVME is 4 times faster than a SATA. If you have never had a computer with an SSD you will be very pleasatly surprised at the performance.
Yes you can add an M.2 SATA-III 2280 "gumstick" type hard drive and here is where you will find the slot when you remove the back cover:
add hard drive
Start on p. 41 for disassembly instructions.
You need this type of disk:
512-GB solid-state drive 763008-016 256-GB solid-state drive 865902-014
HP has a 512 gig drive for $108 which is a great deal that you should take. Here is a link to buy it:
We can work with you to get Windows booting off the much faster SSD if you wish.
Post back with any other questions and please accept as solution if this is the answer you needed.
Start your own thread and repost your question. I agree this one got a bit disconnected.
Hi team,
I'm looking for a dock station for my new OMEN 15-CE023NF, but I don't find any informations or seller for this.
Can you help me please ?
Regards
Fred
No sorry you have the AMD E1-2100. Running at 1 ghz. I understand why you would want to upgrade but the processor is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be removed or replaced except by a motherboard swap.
See page 26 of the Service manual:
There are cell phones with more processing power than you will get from an E1-2100. That model was made to be sold cheap. You can find them for under $200 and a replacement motherboard will be more than that.
All you can do is install 8 gigs of RAM and upgrade to a solid state drive but even if you do that it will cost as much as the whole laptop is worth.
Please post back with any more questions but accept as solution if it is the answer you needed even if not exactly the one you wanted.
Message from Microsoft: "BIOS needs to be upgraded before you can upgrade to Windows 10. Uninstall this app now because it isn't compatible with Windows 10" I don't know what BIOS means or how to uninstall the app (whichn I didn't know I had) Can anyone tell a comuter illiterate 75 year old how to dom this please?
