Hi @BUDI4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing an issue while playing online games on your Laptop.

A) Perform a power drain on your PC.

1) Unplug the power cord from the PC & wall.

2) Disconnect the power cable from the AC adapter if it is a detachable part and keep it aside.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the AC adapter, then connect it to the wall and to the charging port on your PC.

5) Power on the PC and Update the BIOS for your PC by clicking on the link.

Make sure you keep only the charger plugged in while updating the BIOS for your PC.

Click on the + sign next to BIOS and then download the file.

Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

B) Check the 'OMEN Performance Control' setting by clicking on the link and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @RAGHAV771,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your new HP Victus 15 gaming laptop's battery health has degraded to 90% within just seven days. Here are some points to consider and steps you can take to address this issue:

1. Understanding Battery Health Degradation

  • Battery Wear Level: It’s common for batteries to show slight wear soon after the first few charge cycles, but a drop to 90% is unusual within such a short period.
  • Battery Health Monitoring: Windows 11 and various third-party applications can display battery health statistics. Sometimes, these readings might not be entirely accurate immediately after a new device is activated.

2. Adaptive Battery Optimizer and Charge Limiter

  • Adaptive Battery Optimizer: This feature is designed to prolong battery life by learning your usage patterns and adjusting the charging behavior accordingly. However, if it's showing as enabled but not activated, it might not be functioning as expected.
  • Charge Limiter: Some laptops have built-in settings to limit charging to 80-90% to prevent battery wear. Unfortunately, this feature is not always available on all laptops, including some HP models.

3. Troubleshooting Steps

  • Update BIOS and Drivers: Ensure that your laptop’s BIOS and all related drivers are up to date. Sometimes, software updates can resolve battery management issues.
  • Battery Calibration: Perform a battery calibration. Fully charge the laptop, then use it until the battery completely discharges. Afterward, recharge it fully again. This process can help recalibrate the battery sensor.
  • Check Battery Settings: Verify the settings in HP Support Assistant or HP Power Manager. Ensure that any power-saving features or battery optimization settings are correctly configured.

4. Additional Considerations

  • Battery Usage Habits: Avoid keeping the laptop plugged in all the time, as constant charging can lead to faster degradation.
  • Environmental Factors: Extreme temperatures can affect battery life, so ensure your laptop is used in moderate conditions.

5. Future Precautions

  • If you continue to experience rapid battery degradation, consider adjusting your charging habits, using a charge limiter if available, and keeping the battery between 20% and 80% to extend its lifespan.

new print cartridge did not print cyan - solved

After putting in a NEW 304 XL colour cartridge, cyan did not print
None of the HP suggestions worked - clean cartridges, etc.

i took the cartridge out of the printer

with white tissue, I wiped the print head - red and yellow came out but no CYAN

i rinsed the print head, dried it, and repeated the tissue test - still no cyan

i therefore peeled off the HP label to uncover the bleed vents and feed holes in the top of the cartridge and blew gently into the top

cartridge top.jpg

the tissue test showed all 3 colours

I replaced the label without pressing it, to avoid blocking the bleed labyrinth behind the bleed vents

the tissue test showed all 3 colours

a test print showed that the cartridge was working properly

scrubbed my fingers from the inkjet ink (it does not penetrate)

HP needs to add this to the troubleshooting steps for missing colours or otherwise malfunctioning new cartridges

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates your notebook can support a M.2 NVMe SSD.

HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

No one can tell you exactly how large a capacity NVMe SSD you can install in your notebook.

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates that HP offered NVMe SSD's up to 512 GB in the model series, but that is normally just what they offered, not the maximum capacity supported.

Theoretically, the sky's the limit as long as the drive is single-sided.

The Crucial memory report indicates that they sell NVMe SSDs up to 4 TB.

Yes, all 16-wf0xxx notebooks have support for tow M.2 NVMe SSD's.

Below is the link to the service manual:

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

The manual references 16-w0xxx models because it is shared with the 16-wd0xxx model series which comes with the Intel 'H' series processors, not the 'HX' series processors like the 16-wf's have.

The 16-wd0xxx notebooks only have support for one M.2 NVMe SSD.

Good day. Can you please tell me if it is possible to install a Samsung 860 Evo 500GB MZ-N6E500 SSD (M.2 2280, SATA 3.0) on my HP 250 G6 laptop (Model: 3168NGW SN: CND8377QKQ RMN: TPN-С129)? Will this SSD work with my factory HDD?

Hi:

Yes, it appears your notebook has a M.2 SSD slot that supports a SATA SSD.

At the very top of your 4th screenshot, the slot is just below the fan in your screenshot above that one.

The standoff with the screw to secure the SSD is about 80 mm to the left of the slot.

And will this SSD work without problems with my factory HDD?

HP ENVY 16-h1000 charging throug USB Type-C is not possible

$

The HP-Envy 16 can 'theoretically' be charged via the USB Type-C port. The problem is that it only works when the computer is switched off - not even in sleep mode.

When I plugged it into a USB Type-C charger, I got the message "For full performance, connect a higher-capacity power adapter. Your computer will run in reduced performance mode and may not charge". And it doesn't charge at all. I tried different USB-C chargers, including one with 130W of power - and the result is still the same.

Funny - HP DOES NOT offer a compatible USB Type-C charger, but at the same time blocks any third party charger!

YES - this is deliberately blocked. You can bypass the blocking mechanism by plugging in the original power supply and the USB-C power supply, then unplugging the original. The laptop will still charge - I tested it with my 65W docking station. Since I do not use the laptop for games but for office work, 65W seems more than enough to charge the battery to 100% while working.

The problem has been described in the thread below with no solution, neither reaction from HP.

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Charging-HP-ENVY-laptop-16-h1000-using-USB-3-0-is-possible/td-p/8938236

My problem is as follows: I need an alternative power supply when travelling as the original one is mounted under my desk. Some time ago I bought a 130W USB-C power supply for my second HP Envy (older 17-inch model) and it worked fine. However, it does not work with my new HP Envy 16.

HP Envy 16 should not be sold with information that charging through USB Type-C is possible while no compatible adapted is offered and all alternative power supplies ale blocked.

Ill answer myself, the bios is locked down and values are hardcoded. Its a bit sad, because this could have been a really performant and roundabout laptop wth a strong cpu.

But look how the massacred my boy. Thinking of returning it. But probably all large brands are crap. cheers

The service manual does not indicate a dual drive configuration is supported, but you can try it and see what happens.

HP 250 G6 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide

What I do know is that on other model notebooks that do come with dual drive configurations, the 2.5" drive can only be used for storage.

If there is an operating system on the 2.5" drive, the notebook will always want to boot from the 2.5" drive first and not the M.2 SSD.

it's not a software problem or anything else, they are designed so you can't increase the VRAM in the BIOS, You will not be able to do anything, that is the answer to your question, there is no way to change it,
