Probably not necessary to change the fan although they are cheap. Likely it would help to disassemble it down to the CPU, clean out around the fan/heatsink, remove the heatsink, install new thermal compound and reassemble. Also as long as you hold the fan blade from spinning out of control with a paperclip through the grille you can apply very strong air, like from a compressor instead of a can and really give it a clean-out as a distant second option if you don't want to disassemble.
