Brandnew laptop will only charge when battery is about to die
I received this laptop a few months ago, but just got around to opening and using it. Right off the bat, the laptop will not charge. When the laptop is plugged in, the battery charging icon does not work, nor does the laptop charge. it will only charge if the battery is dead. if the battery is running low and I attempt to charge it, it will not charge.
This is the HP 15 Laptop PC. Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

Re: installing a SSD-disc instead of an optical disc
Searched google for "ODD7002" with the same question for my HP omen 17-an012dx and this was the only result so I don't this this is a question that a user could help with. Seems like something for an expert.
My scenario: my m.2 slot has a 500gb nvme ssd, and I'd rather not remove my sata HDD if I can add another storage device in addition to it. (There's plenty of space next to this mysterious connector for a 2.5" form factor storage unit.)
On a semi-related note, is it possible to attach two storage units to the 9.5mm sata connector that currently hosts the hdd? (With an extra internal adapter of course)
Edit: 9.5mm is a form factor, I thought it was the name of the connection - my mistake...
Additional info: "SC18a2" is the tiny inscription on this ODD7002 empty port if that helps at all (very small writing).

Adding more storage, an HDD to my Pavilion 15t -cs300
Hello I saw a few answers on here before I posted this but they all seemed to be 2 or more years out of date and wanted to make sure this was still able to be done. I wanted to add an HDD to my laptop Pavilion 15t for more storage. Just thought I should make sure that you could do so with this model. If so how would I find the manual to help me do the upgrade. I didnt get a manual with it and searching for the manual leads me to ones from 2015 which are be out of date since they didnt list my specs anywhere in them. Thank you for your help!

Thank you very much for your detailed reply and documentation for my laptop. It was really very helpful.
I have been able to locate and remove the eMMC drive (4a) on page 24 --- the eMMC drive bracket (4b) although I'm not sure if I need to or even can remove it...seems to be stuck/glued.
It is also good to see on page 24 the same compatible drive information you mentioned. Seems most SSDs will fit the bill. However, as my laptop does not have any SSD drive currently (besides the 32GB eMMC drive), my only option seems to be to remove the eMMC drive and replace it with an SSD. This however, requires me to have this Hard Drive Hardware Kit (part 813510-001 but it looks like from HP Part surfer this is no longer available.
Can you please validate my thoughts and offer any alternatives for this HDD kit?

HP Envy x360 (15t-cn100) does not charge over USB-C
Hello,
I have the HP Envy x360 15t-cn100 and am using it in conjunction with a PLUGABLE USB-C MINI DOCKING STATION WITH 85W POWER DELIVERY (UD-CAM).
When connecting the USB-C cable from the docking station to the HP Envy, all peripherals (wireless mouse, audio, HDMI) work as expected. However, my laptop is not charging from the docking station.
Based on my computer's specifications, I have 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.2, HP Sleep and Charge); so my laptop should be able to support charging via the USB-C port.
I have tested the docking station on a different laptop (Dell Latitude 7480) and it is able to charge. I have contacted the docking station manufacturer for support, but seeing as it works just fine on another laptop, I don't believe it is an issue with their hardware.
Can anyone offer any guidance? Thank you.

I discovered that if i re-update the bios, usb ports work again. So, it has something to do with bios i think...
