As I understand you need information on battery replacement,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Did you check the HP service and maintenance guide?

As I understand the function keys on your HP laptop are not working,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Did you install any recent windows or HP updates on the PC?
I would start off by updating the Bios, and Chipset drivers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link.
Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.
While you respond to that, here's a few things you can attempt:
Click the Start button, then click Run.
In the Run window, next to Open, type MSCONFIG.
Press the ENTER key.
In the System Configuration Utility window, click the Startup tab.
On the Startup tab, under Startup Item, ensure that there is a check in the HKserv checkbox.
NOTE: If HKserv is missing, reinstall the Hot-Key Utility application by Clicking here
For windows 10 drivers: Click here
(ignore the ads, 3rd party link has been sent to ensure your issue is fixed, I'm going beyond my way to help you and if you would like to give me virtual high five, Click on the purple thumbs up )
If the above doesn't help, please create another User account as suggested earlier and try again.
Keep me posted for further assistance

As I understand the touchpad/mouse isn't working as it should,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Did you check with an external mouse? does that work?
If you haven't, please attempt using an alternate/external mouse.
(If that works when the touchpad is disabled on Synaptic software, it would mean that it's a touchpad failure,
However, if the external mouse doesn't work either, it could be a software/driver issue).
Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your mouse:
Go to the Device Manager and select your mouse. Uninstall it and then restart your computer. During restart, your mouse driver will automatically be reinstalled.
1. Click on Start and type ‘Device Manager’.
2. Click Device Manager.
3. Click + sign next to Mouse.
4. Right-click on mouse entry and choose "uninstall".
5. Restart your computer.

Gradually some of the keys, namely my space bar, on my keyboard have stopped working. At first it was just delayed and use an alt-code would get them working again. I’ve had to resort to using alt-codes for several now and now that doesn’t work for some of them. I’ve tried cleaning the keyboard using canned air, used the assistant to scan for errors. It says it’s updated the drivers and asked to restart but still they won’t work. A second scan revealed no errors
I’ve now had to resort to the on screen keyboard for use of my spacebar which has become extremely frustrating
The keys in addition to the spacebar are: m , . c z x v / also "left shift' and "right ctrl"
Any help would be appreciated
Sounds like you have something which is building up under the area. Please use a can of compressed air and blow away underneath those keys. Worse case, you have to remove the keyboard and clean them all.
Regards.
Hello CherylG,
This is a brand new computer I bought less in a month and half. I can use my fingers in passive mode to do all the touching work in Windows 10. I believe the digitizer and screen should be fine and working. I got new HP Active Pen 1MR94AA#ABL 2 days ago; hope battery should be in good shape from unbox the pen package. I can see the pen power on when tap/tip on the screen - some rippler bounce back on screen with battery, no response at all when taking away the battery from pen. I could not find 2nd aaaa battery from store.
Here is my computer product number I got from pressing - fn+esc
Product name : HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-bq0xx
Product number : 1KS89UA#ABA
BIOS : F.04-07/12/2017
I hope the HP Active Pen is going to work easily and smoothly.
Once again, thank you very much for your great help.

The cooling fan of my system is not working. What should i do?
Hi,
My hard disk seems to have crashed and I need help to restore or retrieve the data.
It was throwing the following errors the last 2 days during startup/ resuming from hibernation -
- SMART Hard Disk Error (detected an imminent failuire) during startup
- Your computer can't comeout of hibernation. Info: A fatalerror occurred processing the restoration data.
- It was also doing a CHKDSK (Checking file system on C)
Any application I open on my laptop was throwing a .dll error.
During a Hardware Test it said hard disk has failed but still I was able to boot and login.
But before I could complete backing up the data, it seems to have crashed. It shows these set of screens now -
1. Intel RAID Volumes screen said Cache_Volume Status = Disabled & Bootable = No
2. SMART Hard Disk Error
3. HP PC Hardware Diagnositics Screen
Hard Drive Check said SMART Check : WARNING & Short DST : WARNING
4. After exiting the setup, BootDevice Not Found. Please installan operating system on your hard disk. Hard Disk - (3F0)
Please help me out. I want to know -
1. Is my hard disk completely crashed?
2. Is there is any possibility to restore my system or recover my data?
3. How to do it?
Appreciate any help in this regard.
Regards,
Desperate me...
From the Product ID your model is ENVY x360 - 15-bq051nr. I checked your Support page to see if perhaps there was a firmware update for display. You also have latest BIOS:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-15-bq000-x360-convertible-pc/15551149/model/16902196?sku=1KS89UA
I am pretty much at a loss for other suggestions. The HP Pen worked out of the box for me on the Spectre X360 13-acoxx I am testing. Contact HP chat or phone assistance on Monday.Use your Serial number to connect-it is found by fn + esc also:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/product/HP-ENVY-15-bq000-x360-Convertible-PC/15551149/model/16902196?sku=1KS89UA
When I sent it in for repair I had no idea it was the hard drive. How would I have known that? They sent a paper asking if I wanted my data to be recovered if possible. I said yes. I don't think expense should be an issue to a multi-billion dollar company. I don't believe they even attempted to save it, because it was fixed in less than a day.
I would also like to know why the recovery says I only have 1.94 gb out of 16.4 gb. If they had replaced the hard drive wouldn't I have that recovery back?
I really don't care about them saying they are sending it back to the manufacturer. The issue is my data was on there, and could be retrieved, expensive or not, now it is in who knows whose hands. That should not concern me.
Also, the replacement that I was given, was it new or reconditioned. That means it will last less than a year like the original, which I think was a reconditioned one, to begin with since someone else's name came up when I first turned it on. It also listed devices connected including a Hulu and some Television I had neither.
I took it back to Staples and was told, I was just receiving a nearby signal from someone. I should have demanded a refund then and there because I do not believe it.
No more HP's for me, ever again. It seems to be a common thing that they last a year and that is it.
On another forum it also said that I should not have been charged to ship it back, but I was.
