After gratuated from highschool, my father gave me his laptop to study. It's a HP Pavillion dv7-2270us.

The system is still running smoothly after years thanks to HP quality . And I really want to keep it.

Unfortunately, it is not enough RAM, CPU speed, display memory and storage for my to work. I have to deal with some heavy software such as Cartia, Solidworks, Matlab, etc. . Thus, I want to upgrade it to keep up with the current technology: SSD, Ram, etc.

Could you suggest what can I do to increase the speed of it. What type of SSD which is suitable should I buy? What kind of CPU which the BIOS can support? 

Last but not least, I live in HoChiMinh City in Vietnam. Can I contact to HP support agency in here to do the upgrade or contact to the third company? 

I'm looking forward to getting the reply from the forum.

Not yet I think, because my uncle just bought it for me last August 25, 2016. I was just being over protected because it's important to me as a student, thats's why I asked for some advice and tips from the people here if I can plug in the charger while Im playing some mid level spec games.

I need to find a driver for this unkonw device, ACPI\HPQ6007. My lap-top cam with windows 10 but I have software that does not work with windows 10 so I installed windows 7 pro. I have found every driver but this one.

Hi,

I want to upgrade my notebook to SSD. I have read that my notebook has the facility for dual hard drives. Does anyone know if this is correct, and if so, what is the best way to migrate the operating system to the new SSD drive?

hello..

I have hp pavilion g6 2230 notebook. yesterday night i was working on my notebook. then i shut down it. next morning i tried to on my laptop, but it is not start. i perform hard reset 3 times. but laptop does not satrt. caps lock and wireless key led does not blink and screen also does not blink. charging is done as earlier.

I have an HP Pavilion dm1-3000.
The battery is new.  
The battery was supplied by the HP battery recall program in March of 2016.
The battery shows near full and diagnostic checks say battery is healthy.
The power cord appears to recharge the battery per normal.  Orange light comes on and 'present rate' shows activity.
The power cord is new also supplied by HP power cord recall program.
When the power cord is disconnected while the machine is on in order to run on battery only, then the machine turns off hard.
When the machine is not connected to the power cord and a startup is attempted with only the battery then the machine does not respond, not lights, no sounds, stone dead.
Note: on two occassions when the power cord was disconnected the machine ran for about 15 seconds on battery.  A normal battery low warning dialog came up then the machine shut down quietly.
However, that behavior has now ceased.

How to determine if this is a hardware failure or firmware bug?

Perhaps there is a complete machine recall program?

This is intriguing. Just made the changes recommended. Will see how well the battery holds a charge over the next few days. Thank you for the suggestion.

Hello sir. i do not have an answer for your question undortunately but i do have a question. you said that you can not use any charger becuase it is blocked from hp firmware. i have the same device as yours and i am interested in external power banks and thus the firmware fact you mentioned makes the external battery bank impossible. may i ask where did you find that statement that informed you of the incompatiblity of non hp chargers for the device. thank you.

I would like to upgrade my processor from 8 32 bit to a 64-bit in my HP pavilion DV 8300 it has a 32-bit with Windows 7 would like to upgrade processor to 64 bit, and would like to know how far I could upgrade my laptop as I use it a lot please help if you can would be greatly appreciated thank you for your time.

dear sir. was just passing by. as far as i know the power adapter voltage should matvh the voltage that is written on the device input itself. so if the device says input 15v then the charger should be 15v and not lower or higher. or else serious damage to the device and/or the charger might occur. the amperage though on the charger should be equal ot higher to the input of the device. do a google search and all answers will be given. as far as fot the specific device that you own (i own the same) i have no knowledge whatsoever of alternative chargers or power banks or anything. hope it helped a bit. cheers.

my laptop can't run league well after the most recent update and I think not having a dedicated graphics card is the problem, i looked at my computer panel system description and it says im running the Quad-Core A10-5750M and have 8GB DDR3 SDRAM so i definitely should be able to run league  but it gets waaay too hot and the proccesor and ram start getting waaay too high in usage percentage.  so am i able to add a graphics card or something to it?

Hi, My laptop battery isn't charging.When I tried to plugin battery as well as adapter laptop isn't turn On.But when I remove the battery and apply AC Adapter laptop works fine.Or if I turn on a laptop on battery it works fine.

 

I tried to do a battery test with HP Support Assistant and it shows UNKNOWN Battery! As shown in the image.

Now what should i Do?

 

Laptop Specs:  Hp Pavilion dv6 7042cl

Windows 10 64-Bit

Almost 3.5 years old.

Unfortunately no, you can't put any graphics card to your machine. The AMD Radeon HD 8650G graphics comes with the processor. The following link shows specs of your machine:

My envy laptop is 2 days old. The intel realsense 3D camera worked fine the first day, but when I started the computer up on the second day, the camera no longer works. Device manager says it's fine. Troubleshooting says it's fine. I've tried restarting the computer, uninstalling and reinstalling everything, updating device drivers, nothing is working. Microsoft troubleshooting online forum only tells me to update the drivers, which I've already done with no result. This computer was horrendously expensive and I'm obviously very upset that it stops working after ONE DAY.

I have just brought a pavilion AU003TX with 8gb DDR4 Ram and i5-6th gen, but it's working too slow. If I type anything in the search then it sometime takes ages to type on screen. The transfer speed is seriously slow at 15-20MBps when transferring in the internal drive, from one partition to another. And USB 3.0 to 3.0 transfer speed is 30MBps only. What should I do ?
Please help !
