I have a new, purchased in July 2013, HP Envy 15 Notebook PC. Everything works great except for the integrated webcam. Every couple of days, the computer is unable to recognize that i have a webcam. If i go to the camera app in windows 8 it tells me to connect a device. Skype and google hangouts is also unable to recognize that i have a webcam. In my device manager, it no longer shows up under the "imaging device" header but now it appears under the "other devices" as an "unknown device." When i run system scans it shows that i have an unknown device but is unable to fix it. I have solved it in the past by refreshing my computer, which resulted in me having to re-install all of my programs.
Is there a permanent fix to this bug?
