USB ports are supplying power but does not work, or works really slow when it does

Hi,

i have a HP Pavillion 15-e055sx and the usb 3 ports (the ones ine the left hand side near the power button) used to work nicely, (it is where i used to plug my mouse in) but recently it just does not work.
