You can check if you have HP AC Power control utility.This package provides the HP AC Power Control Utility for the supported notebooks. The HP AC Power Control Utility provides an easy way to switch the AC Power Control On or Off and to set the Peak Shift time schedule.If you have scheduled time not to charge from 4-8 , that could be a couse of the issue.
Check for a moment your settings , and I'm sure it will solve the problem.
