Hi, so I've got the HP Envy Ultrabook 4-1130us.
The wireless card in this notebook is absolutely atrocious, and I was hoping to upgrade it. We recently got a new Wireless Router at home - the Asus AC66U. I want to make use of 802.11ac , and/or the 802.11n 5GHz network.
I'm not sure my options in terms of upgrading? I've only found 2 after market adapters that are support 802.11ac.
Has anybody with a HP Envy 4 tried upgrading to either of these two WiFi cards? I live in Canada & will purchase this while I'm in the US, then bring it over on my way home so it's not as easy as buying them & testing them.
The HP manual (page 52) lists 7 compatible WiFi cards but all are single channel and don't support 802.11ac.
Also, how difficult is it to upgrade the WiFi card? I've changed hard drives and memory modules in plenty of notebooks but apparently some notebooks keep it easy to change WiFi Cards while others make it unnecessarily difficult.
