Disk on port 0 at risk..

on startup I get a message saying that my Harddrive is at risk, i pressed continue and this has been going for about a month or two now.

I get the message "disk on port 0 at risk" on the bottom right corner of my screen, but I havent encountered any problems in these past two months.

Is it really necessary to buy a new hard disk? My laptop is a Hp pavillion DV6.

also if i buy a new harddrive does it mean my computer will go back to its factory state? so it will be as fast as when i bought the laptop? - I do not plan or intend to use any backed up data as not much of it is important, and what is important i have saved on my usb. I dont want to buy an external harddrive neither, I feel it will be a hassle to backup data, rather just start out fresh.

Should i just continue using this 'damaged' harddrive until it fails and just buy a new one? I'm asking because i'm not really sure what the implications will be.

Thanks!
