Changing CPU fan on Hp Pavilion G6-2239dx

First off, thanks for taking the time to read about my issue and even moreso if you decide to help me.

So I've been getting an error about replacing my fan. It's obviously not working considering my laptop overheats and shutsdown within an hour of use.
Error message is basically "System had detected that cooling fan isn't working. Further use=bad, System fan (90B)"

So I've never taken apart my PC before. I've must around with it software-wise A LOT but I've never opened it up before, at least until about last week. Surprisingly not that scary.

My issue I'm having right now is removing the keyboard. I have gotten the left and right sides of the keyboard to lift but something is holding down the middle. I removed the screw (see pic [Should say right side]).
The right side I can just life off with a knife. Tried that in the middle but wasn't working for me.

Pic of where keyboard can be lifted (don't know why it's rotated, it's fine when I view it).

I'm assuming the way to get the middle of the keyboard to lift is by pressing the keyboard button on the back of the PC. Pic

However, when I press it, no matter how hard, the keyboard doesn't pop like it does when I pushed on the DVD drive's release button. Help?

Detailed thing:

1. Removed battery

2. Removed screw from the plate thing on the back

3. Remove plate thing

4. Remove DVD drive by unscrewing the corresponding screw

5. Removed screw by keyboard symbol as can be seen in this pic

6. Press release button thing in DVD drive. Left side of keyboard releases

7. Get right side to life by sliding knife (assuming not the right way?)

8 Try sliding knife through middle, nothing happens.

9. Press the release button for keyboard on the back. Nothing happens

10. Cry for a bit

11. Ask for help on HP support forums :)

Future questions after I get the keyboard thing sorted out.

Do I have to buy a specific type of fan to replace the fan if needed?

How hard woul I have to try to break my computer doing this?

Detailed instructions of what to do next would be great too.

Took this to Bestbuy and they supposedly cleaned it. Nothing's changed and I can see a lot of dust by just peeking under the keyboard. Hopefully I just have to clean the dang thing.

Pic if there's any confusion about my issue

Glad this happened over winter break instead of during the school year at least!

Thanks in advance.
