Hi
No thanks for the Chat. What happens if you try the device in a different port on the Notebook? We know it is not a port issue and we know that the device works on a different computer.
Let me know,
Thanks.

I understand that you are unable to install updates as you are running out of space on the "C" drive. This can easily happen due to the limited internal space. With Windows 10 you can change where applications are installed. You may need to move previously installed apps to an external storage device such as a SD card to free up space, thus allowing room for any updates to be installed. Here is a link to assist you with that process:
How to install Windows 10 apps to an external drive (from windowscentral.com).

I grasp that your keyboard has acted strangely since you first purchased your notebook. You are unable to use the F1-F12 keys as the functions are not the one you want. They do function, but not as you expect.
Here is are links that I think may help:

Hey
You could revert back to Windows 8 where everything was working correctly. I have tried to help with several different solutions. Thanks.
Hello @Xkalibur39,

I read your post about the notebook not starting, and wanted to assist you! I understand that the LED lights are blinking twice.
Based on the blink code, it seems that are you having an issue with the BIOS. Please review the following steps, and let me know how it goes:
Turn off the computer.
Plug the notebook into power using the power adapter.
While the computer is still off:
Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time, and then press and hold down the Power button on the notebook for one second.
Release the Power button and the keys.
By following these steps the BIOS will reach the EFI partition in order to recover the BIOS to the last known good version of the BIOS from the hard drive.
For information on how to restore the BIOS refer to the HP support document:
HP Notebook PCs - Restoring the BIOS.

See p. 35 of the Manual here:
There is a SATA hard drive bay and it looks like the SATA connectors on the drive plug directly into the motherboard. The M.2 slot is at right angles and above the hard drive bay so yes, you can have both a 2.5 inch SATA SSD and also the M.2 mSSD. You can just add in the 2.5 inch SATA SSD (or hard drive) and you really do need the hard drive mounting kit otherwise the hard drive will rattle around in the bay and that is not good for the laptop or the drive.

When you install the SSD or HDD storage drive you will have to initialize and mount it (assign a drive letter) in disk management. Let us know if you need any help.

I have two USB ports which recently stopped working. They are both located on the left side of the notebook. There are two ports on the right side which are operational. The two non-working ports have power can I can use them for charging a device (phone, etc.). However, they do not recognize any USB device. No Errors are emitted but no devices show up either.
Device manager reported a controller as having a problem. I unistalled the device (Renesas USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller) and then ran a scan for hardware changes. The scan did not detect the controller. I have a feeling this is a hardware failure of the motherboard but am hopeful there may be another solution.
Device Manager also reports a problem with USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller
Thanks,
John
If I disable the "Optical Drive" in bios or remove the HDD optical caddy, my laptop boot smoothy.
Why is it not an option to remove optical drive in the BIOS (boot order I assume). When you do that it boots smoothly but does the system see the HDD in the optical caddy?

I came across your post about upgrading the notebook, and wanted to help!
I am not sure I quite understand your question. Are you indicating that you would like HP to replace your notebook, with the other version, and pay the difference? Your current notebook can support up to 16 GB of RAM, so the memory should not be an issue. If you are asking about contacting HP to upgrade the notebook, then you may consider contacting HP Phone Support for more options. Please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a case for your issue and contact HP. If you live outside the US/Canada, please click the link below to get the contact information for your region.

See pages 36-39 here:
Basically it is a Chinese Menu...one from Column A (2.5 inch SSD or HDD) OR a Column B (M.2 mSSD). Both types of storage use their own special adapter with a cable and connect to the same port so you can have one or the other, not both.

I was having an issue with the computer going into SLEEP MODE without any warning for about a month. I kept changing the POWER SETTINGS to a higher percentage but nothing worked. I decided to download a Battery management software to see if I could get THAT problem solved. It didn´t! I´m guessing the computer went into SLEEP MODE at around 50%. That software decided to do a Battery calibration (depleting the battery and recharging it about 30 times) and there is where the Battery started to give me problems. It charges up to 95% (that’s it, no more) and the display says "calculating" (it never gets past that) From what I can tell looking at the diagnostic, that although it says that the battery is "OK" the 4th cell doesn’t have a charge.
Could this be a Software problem? I know it’s farfetched but the problem started after I installed that battery management software.
Thanks in advance for the help
I can't find external CD/DVD drive for HP 360 w/ Win 10. I have tried 2 other devices and they won't work- can't get software installed.
